I am always looking for ways to share love from my kitchen. This recipe is such an easy and fun way to share “the love” and is not something you just go run to the store to buy. I like to place these Toasted Vanilla Almonds in a holiday mug, cute keepsake box or gift bag to add a special fun touch.
Ingredients
- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 4 cups whole raw almonds
- 3/4 cups white sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
- Combine the sugar, salt and cinnamon, set aside.
- Lightly beat the egg white with the vanilla extract, add the almonds and stir to coat.
- Gently blend with the sugar mixture that was set aside.
- Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes.
- Remove and cool on wax paper.
- Break into clusters, divide and assemble for gifts.
Yield: Makes 4 cups
